The Alliance High School Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee was established in 1966, under the chairmanship of Clarence Steffy, to recognize Alliance High School graduates who have made outstanding contributions to society on a local, state, national or international basis. Criteria for selection are established that the individual must be an AHS graduate, must have graduated at least five years prior to selection and may be living or deceased. Accomplishments must be so outstanding that there is no question of his or her qualifications for selection.
Including the initial selection of fourteen "Distinguished Alumni‟ in 1967 and the selection Class of 2023, a total of 104 AHS graduates have been honored as "Distinguished Alumni.‟
Current members of the Distinguished Alumni Committee are made up of AHS graduates and current AHS principal.
