Miss Eliza Reed – Graduated 1929; Inducted 1969
Miss Eliza Reed, originally from Homeworth, Ohio, is a graduate of Alliance High School. She is associated with the Positive Safety Manufacturing Company of Cleveland and is recognized for her contributions to industrial safety procedures. Through her studies and demonstrations of safety procedures, she has become nationally known in the industrial safety business.
Miss Reed now serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Positive Safety Manufacturing Company. She demonstrates the company’s products at several Industrial Safety and Tool Shows each year. She also represents her company at many technical and policy meetings pertaining to safety. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women in Business.
In civic organizations, Miss Reed has held many offices in the local Zonta Club of Cleveland and Zonta International including one year as president, one year as vice president, three years as Treasurer and six years as Director. Zonta is a service club of business and professional women. She is also a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Shaker Heights.
Biographical update: Eliza Reed passed away on March 25, 2000 at the Greens Rehabilitation Center in Lyndhurst. She was 88 years old. Although she lived most of her life in Cleveland due to her career, she is buried in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery south of her original home town of Homeworth.
