Dr. Blebea is an AHS graduate of 1974. He was involved in NHS, Academic Challenge, Science Seminar, National Forensic League, Creative Writing Club, Orchestra, Blue Dom and Thespians while at AHS.
He was class valedictorian and attended Brown University. He attended Medical School at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and began his internship and general surgery residency training at Georgetown University Hospital.

He specialized in vascular surgery and went on to teach medicine as a professor. He was awarded tenure at Penn State University College of Medicine before moving to Philadelphia as division chief of vascular surgery at Temple University and director of the vascular fellowship program. He also taught at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Case Western Reserve. He was a professor of surgery in the division of vascular and endovascular surgery at University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Blebea became the Chair of Surgical Disciplines: Central Michigan University College of Medicine in the fall of 2018.
Dr. Blebea has written more than 180 scientific publications and has given over 400 presentations at medical conferences. He has received more than 40 research awards including grants totaling more than $2 million. He is currently the president of the American Venous Forum, the most prestigious society in the world in the area of venous disorders. He obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from Lake Erie College in 2011.
He maintains an active clinical practice and has been included for multiple years in local, state and national doctor recognition programs. He and his wife, Judy have three daughters.
