TOM GOOSBY AHS Class of 1958
Tom Goosby was one of the greatest football players ever at Alliance High School. He went to college and was a four-year letterman for Baldwin-Wallace. He was drafted in the 15th round of the 1962 college player draft and played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns (1963-1965) and the Washington Redskins (In 1966 he started 13 games for the Redskins). Goosby spent a year in the Canadian Football League with the British Columbia team and after retiring as a player after the 1966 season, he served as a scout for three years before relocating to the Akron area. Tom Goosby is also a member of the Summit County Hall of Fame and the Baldwin-Wallace College Athletic Hall of Fame. |
