JAIVON HARRIS AHS Class of 2000
Jaivon Harris is a graduate of AHS’s class of 2000. A four-year varsity letter winner he scored 479 points in his senior year, leading Alliance in scoring (21.8 ppg), rebounding (6.6 ppg), assists (4.2 apg) and free-throw shooting (75 percent). He was the top scorer in Stark County for the 1999-2000 season and earned Division II First Team All-Ohio honors. His 479 points in his senior year was the third-highest single-season total in Alliance basketball history. He was awarded an athletic scholarship to Ohio University for basketball in 2000. As a Bobcat, Jaivon received an award in 2001 for most promising player. He was an All-MAC honorable mention for the 2003-04 season and was Ohio GMAC Realty of Ohio Athlete of the Week in December 2003. Jaivon was a top ten record holder for Ohio University in three-point shots made, attempted and percentage and also has the highest three-point conversion percentage in the Convocation Center at Ohio University. After he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services in Exercise Physiology, Jaivon was recruited by the European Pro Basketball League. He was a starting guard for the Chemnitz Ninety-Niners in Germany where he led his team in scoring from 2004 to 2007. Jaivon is still playing in the European Pro League with the Bayreuth BBC, also in Germany. |
