ED GLASS          AHS Class of 1955
Ed Glass graduated in 1955 from AHS where he played football as a starting middle guard in the 1953 and 1954 seasons.  He graduated from Mount Union College and earned a master’s degree from Youngstown State University.
Ed coached at Mount Union College and West Branch High School before moving, in 1970, to Warren Harding High School where he was defensive coordinator for the undefeated Associated Press Class AAA State Champions.  He was named head football coach at Warren Harding in 1973 when they were tri-champions of the All-America Conference.  His 1974 team won the OHSAA Class AAA Playoff State Championship.
He was head coach of the Ohio North All-Stars in 1975 and of the Ohio All-Stars for the Ohio-Pennsylvania Big 33 game that same year.  He is the only coach to have a State Playoff Championship and coach both All-Star games.
In 1975 he became a school administrator and head football coach at Hubbard High School.  In 1979, he was elected president of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.
In his 15 seasons as head football coach at North Canton Hoover High School, his teams were 107-54.  Six of his teams were Federal League champs and playoff qualifiers.  His 1984 Hoover Viking team was Division I state runner-up.
