DANIELLE ROGERS HEATHER          AHS Class of 1986

When Danielle was a member of the AHS tennis team, her coach said she was “the best girls tennis player to ever come out of Alliance High School’s program.” As a freshman, she recorded a 9-7 record at # 1 singles and earned her first Most Valuable Player Award.  She would earn three more AHS MVP awards along with a First team All-Federal League award and be a Class ‘AAA’ Regional Qualifier. At that time, coach Ken Yost said, “She’s the first freshman to get to district and is only the third tennis player, including boys, in Alliance High School history to advance to the regional.”
After her graduation, Danielle went on to be a stand out tennis player at Ohio University.  As a freshman, she helped the Bobcats to their best ever finish in the Mid-American Conference.  After two years she transferred to Mount Union College.
Today Danielle is a physical education teacher at Marlington Middle School. She has served as head girls’ tennis coach and, more recently, coach of the boys’ tennis team as well.  During her seven years as girls’ tennis coach, her teams have been undefeated for two seasons and have become known as one of the finest high school teams in the county.
