The Coastal Pet-Stout Family Scholarship is funded through donations by the Stout family. This scholarship is intended to serve Alliance High School graduates who understand the value of hard work and plan to enter a skilled trade or vocational occupation.
Coastal Pet Products Inc. was founded in 1968 in the basement of a pet shop with only $300.00 in start-up capital. Brothers, Jim and Tom Stout launched what would become a leading manufacturing business and one of the largest employers in Alliance.

The Company has been located in Alliance since its inception. From the pet shop basement to an interim facility built in 1974 when there were ten employees, they have applied a pioneering spirit and cutting edge innovation and design to make Coastal Pet a leading supplier of collars, leashes and other pet supplies. Their use of nylon webbing instead of traditional leather has revolutionized the industry.
Coastal Pet moved into their current facility in 1994. Now, in 2018, manufacturing operations and 475 employees are housed in the 400,000 square foot facility at the west end of Glamorgan Street, on Leadway Avenue. State of the art manufacturing, supply and distribution systems, continue to keep Coastal Pet in their leadership role of the pet supply industry.
