PATRICIA KING TASCHWER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

A new scholarship to award Alliance High School graduates who are female citizens of the United States of America with a minimum of 3.5 grade point average that demonstrate financial need and community service will begin to be awarded by the AHS Foundation in 2026.
The scholarship, established by Terry L. Taschwer (‘59) of Indianapolis, is in memory and honor of his beloved wife, Patricia (King ‘59) Taschwer. Patricia and Terry, high school sweethearts, were married after graduation and shared their lives together until Patricia’s passing in 2024. Patricia, who did not have the financial means to attend college, strongly believed in the value of education, especially to give young women an opportunity to advance themselves. Endeavoring to see Patricia’s commitment to young women, this scholarship has been established to support a qualified recipient and memorialize Patricia’s memory. Preference will also be given to an applicant who maintains part-time employment.
The scholarship will be awarded by the AHS Foundation and shall not exceed the amount of income generated by the invested principal of this scholarship fund. Any undistributed income shall be added to the principal of the scholarship fund. The scholarship awarded shall be awarded on a one year basis per recipient.
